AT THE BEGINNING
Sporoco Inc. was established in 1957 by Frank E. Spooner of Rhode Island. The first warehouse was in South Hill, Virginia, where there is still an operating division of the company. After the successful opening of the Virginia location, the company selected Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania as the second location to service the factory built housing industry. This location eventually became the corporate headquarters.

THE TURNING OF A PAGE
In 1988 at the passing of Frank E. Spooner his sons, Robert Spooner and Dennis Spooner, succeeded him in business. In 1995 Robert Spooner retired. In 1998 Dennis Spooner retired and sold the business to the management in place at that time. In May of 2000, Sporoco acquired Southland Home Products in Tampa FL The addition of the Tampa location enables Sporoco Inc. to serve the entire eastern seaboard where the highest concentration of factory built homes are produced.

In addition to the eastern seaboard Sporoco Inc., in order to service the majority of the continental U.S., formed Independent Shelter Services (ISS). The ISS Group is a Network of like-minded, independently owned warehouse distributors where products and ideas are shared. Sporoco Inc. has grown from a one-man operation to one that employs nearly 50 people and since the mid 80’s has experienced positive growth and continued success.
